My Boring Life

My life is literally all about the HESI and NCLEX. I have several study guides that I read out of at least 2-4 hours a day. I know it will be worth it when I have that RN behind my name. I love my perinatal class. The teacher is fantastic and really cares about what we want to learn. She is even working on helping us get our neonatal resuscitation certification. Drew came to visit this weekend and we had a super chill weekend. We did go eat at Humperdinks. It had an amazingly large menu with all sort of different dishes. Drew got ribs with broccoli cheese soup  and I got chicken and waffles. Drew picked the better dish the BBQ sauce was soooo yummy. He so sweetly shared with me. After that I went to babysit my favorite little boys. This weekend coming up is not gonna be chill tho. Because it is my 22nd birthday on Monday and were partying it up this weekend. Last year my birthday was a blast and my Dad and Kim surprised me.

This year I am driving down to Austin and fantastic four will reunite with Taylor and Matt. I made a little list that I read about on a blog were she wrote 27 things to do before she turned 28 so I made a list of 22 things to do before I am 23.

  1.       Watch steel magnolias
    2.       Take a cooking class
    3.        Go skydiving
    4.       Get married
    5.       Create something I have repined on pintrest
    6.       Get a gym membership
    7.       Learn how to change a tire
    8.       Do something I’m scared to do
    9.       Learn to Box
    10.   Be a “Big Sister”
    11.   Master editing photos
    12.   See a Cowboy’s football game (LIVE)
    13.   Get a Massage by a female as per Drew’s request
    14.   Buy a Yoga video and actually start doing it
    15.   Do something really spontaneous
    16.   Find a job
    17.   Apartment shop
    18.   Work on learning to budget
    19.   Get really drunk
    20.   Beat drew in Madden
    21.   Finish drew’s and I’s first 2 year scrapbook
    22.   Take my dad and kim out to dinner and pay
    23.   Pass the NCLEX the first try

Well I am sure that I will have a long post after this weekend but my life is boring right now.

Football Pep rally

I am of course in Waco again for the weekend. Lucky the weekend has been going nice and slow which I truly appreciate since I have a lot of studying to do. Today we went to the baylor basketball game against OSU and won 106 to 65. It was a great game with a lot of awesome shots. After that went home to change for our football pep rally and then went to Health camp which is a burger place in Waco that has been around for something like 62 years.

The food was good kinda overpriced but it was on my bucket list of places to go before we graduate so it was more for the experience. We also got a chocolate chip shake which was really good. After we finished eating we headed to the Ferrell center for the football pep rally but mostly to get our picture with the Heisman.

This is seriously one of my favorite pictures of RG III.

So the pep rally was a tad boring but we left early to get in line which lead to a great advantage of us not sitting in line for 2 hours. The manor of Waco did make Jan.14 official Baylor football day.

Our football team

And finally us with the Heisman trophy

Also I made us Pizza yesterday and was quite proud of how it turned out

My chicken and waffles an amazing idea ( at cheddar)

That is about it

Stressful week

So I started back at nursing school on Monday. It was very bittersweet to get back because I'm super excited to get to may and graduate but I was really gonna miss my family especially my brother. I left Katy on Saturday morning after breakfast with my dad, brother and Kim. Drew and I just chilled for the rest of the weekend we  just want to be home and sleep in. I had a senior meeting on Monday which I finally got my graduation date which is May 11th in Waco and my pinning ceremony is May 10th. Sadly, the 10th is a Thursday morning idk why cause all the parents are working then but of course my dad will be there. We also found out about how to apply for our licence and it felt so real. We don't have class till 1230 on Monday's which is seriously one of the most exciting things. It is leadership and management which isn't the most excited class, but c'est la vive. On Tuesday we have human needs which was literally lets scare the bajizzes our of us. The professor recommended that we study for our Hesi approximately 2-4 hours and suggested that we cut out sleep. Ha like that is gonna happen. I did go get my text books and study guides because our current one's have very little review questions. Abby and I also found this fantastic book with little memory hits. Today was my first clinical day. I have community clinical Wednesday and Thursday from   0800-1700. On Wednesday we are mostly at CC Young doing things such as teaching, talking, interacting, and blood pressure screens. I have always dreading working with older people but they seem so excited for us and are so nice that it made me excited. I also will gladly appreciate the practice with blood pressure screenings. On Thursday, we are send to different locations such as Helping hands clinic, BUMC employment clinic, cornerstone, TOTs clinic and an experience in school nursing. So after today I am more excited for community clinic minus the paperwork.  I also already can tell that my clinical instructors are just amazing. Well one more day of my week and then off to waco for the weekend. Drew got our of driving again cause Baylor is leading us take pictures with the heismen and we have a basketball game. Only 120 days till graduation. WE CAN DO IT !!!

Home finally

After approximately 2 weeks of travelling I am FINALLY HOME. I really enjoyed the cruise. I will say I think I enjoy spending more time in the destination area tho. We only had about 8 hours in both Cozumel and Progrosso. I did remember to journal after each day except the last day cause it was a little on the boring side. I had a wonderful time in new mexico with family and Drew. I think everyone really liked him and he had a wonderful time.

It was so much fun :) I'll post some pictures from New Mexico in my next post. I have already been so busy the 3 days I have been home. I went to Taylor's surprise dinner and then today I went to a friend from high school's baby shower so I will have to post those pictures later as well.
